Xiaomi Redmi 7A With Snapdragon 439, 4,000mAh Battery Officially Announced

Xiaomi has officially unveiled the entry-level Redmi 7A as an upgrade over last year's Redmi 6A. It comes with splash-resistant P2i coating and features a notch-less 5.45-inch HD+ (1440 x 720) screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio.

The Redmi 7A is powered by the Snapdragon 439 chipset, and will be offered in two variants - one with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and another in a 3GB + 32GB configuration.

Imaging options include a single 13MP rear camera with PDAF and a 5MP front-facing camera. Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio socket and wireless FM radio. The phone comes with a 4,000mAh battery and runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with MIUI 10.

Pricing and availability of the Redmi 7A will be announced alongside the Redmi K20 launch on May 28.

Samsung Reportedly Working on Galaxy A70s With 64MP Camera

 Samsung is reportedly working on a smartphone with a whopping 64MP image sensor as its primary camera. According to South Korean publication, ET News, the device will be a revamped version of the Galaxy A70 that was launched earlier this year, and will be marketed as the

As for the 64MP sensor, it will reportedly be the ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor Samsung
 earlier this month. It comes with 0.8μm pixels for ultra high-res mobile photography and supports real-time high dynamic range (HDR) of up to 100-decibels (dB) to provide richer hues.

Apple Launches New Macbook Pro With 9th-gen Core i9 CPU, Fixed Keyboards

Apple has unveiled its next-gen Macbook Pro with faster 8th- and 9th-generation Intel Core processors and what the company says are better, more reliable keyboards. While Apple is sticking with 8th-gen chips for the 13-inch models, the 15-inch Macbook pros are getting the 9th-gen CPUs.

The overhaul brings octa-core processors to MacBook Pro for the first time, delivering "two times faster performance than a quad-core MacBook Pro and 40 percent more performance than a 6-core MacBook Pro, making it the fastest Mac notebook ever", the company said in a press release.

While  13-inch Macbook Pros have been priced starting at $1,799 in the US, the 15-inch models come with a starting price of $2,399. They're already available from apple's web-store, and will be up for sale in select Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Resellers later this week.

Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 With Faster Processor, New AI Engine Launched for $999

The latest edition of Google Glass is built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 platform, which features a quad-core 1.7GHz CPU and a new artificial intelligence engine. The chip, Google says, offers better power efficiency, enhanced performance and support for advanced machine learning capabilities.

The Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 features an 8MP camera that can record 720p videos. It also has an USB-C port and comes with both Bluetooth 5 and Wi-Fi 5 connectivity. The device runs Android 8.1 Oreo and carries an 820mAh battery that Google claims will offer 8-hours of battery life.

The Glass Enterprise Edition 2 comes with a suggested price of $999, and pre-orders are already live from Google's partner companies in the US.

Xiaomi Redmi 7A With 5.45-inch HD+ Display, Android Pie Certified in China

Rumored to be launched soon as Xiaomi's entry-level smartphone offering, the Redmi 7A has been certified by Chinese electronics certification agency, TENAA, revealing much of the phone's key hardware specs. Two different models have been certified - M1903C3EE and M1903C3EC.

As per the listings, the device will come with a 5.45-inch (1440 x 720) 2.5D curved glass display, a 1.4GHz Octa-Core processor of unspecified make, 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB of storage, a 13MP single rear camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, a 4,000mAh battery and Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10.

There's no word on when the phone will be made official by Xiaomi, but going by recent developments, it shouldn't, hopefully, be too long.

Xiaomi 'RedmiBook 14' With Core i7 CPU, GeForce MX250 GPU Rumored to Launch Next Week

After recent reports suggested that Xiaomi may soon launch Redmi-branded laptops, a new has now seemingly revealed the specifications of the first such device, which is rumored to launch alongside the Redmi K20 next week.

Expected to be marketed as RedmiBook 14, the upcoming device is said to feature a 14-inch display of unknown resolution. It will reportedly be offered with Intel Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 mobile processors options, alongside up to an Nvidia GeForce MX250 GPU.

According to MySmartPrice, the laptop is also expected to be offered with 4GB or 8GB of RAM alongside 256GB and 512GB storage options. The notebook will come in silver color and will be affordably priced, suggests the new leak.

Here are the Official Redmi Note 7S 48MP Camera Samples From Xiaomi

A day after officially confirming the impending launch of the Redmi Note 7S in India, Xiaomi has  a bunch of images that it says have been shot by the device's rear-facing dual-camera setup, which includes a 48MP sensor as its primary camera.

As can be seen from the images in the gallery below, the camera in the Redmi Note 7S does seem to capture some nice photos, with bright, vibrant images in daylight, and detailed, relatively noise-free images in the dark. Color saturation and white balance seem good as well for what should be a budget device positioned below the Note 7 Pro.

Asus ZenFone 6 Launched with Snapdragon 855, Flip Camera, and More

Asus has launched its brand new flagship at an event held in Spain. The ZenFone 6 comes with top-of-the-line specs, and a flip camera module that gives it a bezel-less screen.

The phone packs in a Snapdragon 855 processor, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. In terms of camera, the phone comes with a dual 48MP + 13MP rear camera that flips over to become the selfie camera when you need it to. It's pretty cool. There's also a 6.4-inch FullHD+ IPS display in tow.

Other than that, the phone comes with a massive 5,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support.

The ZenFone 6 has been launched starting at EUR499 for the base variant (~Rs. 39,100) and goes all the way to EUR599 (~Rs. 47,000). There is currently no word on the India launch, but we'll keep you posted.

The Lilium Jet is an autonomous, eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) vehicle that's expected to have a range of 300 kilometers and a top speed of 300 km / hour when complete. The company hopes to launch a commercial flying taxi service by 2025.

Asus Highlights ZenFone 6's 5,000mAh Battery; Taunts OnePlus 7's Smaller 3,700mAh Unit

In the lead-up to the launch of its next-gen flagship later today, Asus is taking a potshot at the OnePlus 7, highlighting that its upcoming device will have a significantly larger battery than the OnePlus device.

As can seen in the tweet posted by the official Asus Twitter handle, the company urges consumers to #DefyOrdinary by choosing the ZenFone 6 with its massive 5,000mAh battery, instead of the OnePlus 7, which still offers a 3,700mAh unit like the 6T.

While Asus doesn't say it in as many words, it's worth noting that at 5,000mAh, the battery in the Asus ZenFone 6 is also significantly bigger than the one on the OnePlus 7 Pro, which comes with a 4,000mAh unit.

Western Digital has launched what the company claims to be the world’s fastest 1TB UHS-I microSD flash memory card – the SanDisk Extreme UHS-I microSDXC.

According to the company's official web-store, the 1TB SanDisk Extreme UHS-I microSD card reaches read speeds up to 90MB/s and write speeds up to 60MB/s.

The new SanDisk Extreme cards are available for purchase now on SanDisk.com and Amazon.com at $449.99 for the 1TB variant and $199.99 for the 512GB version.

OnePlus 7 Pro Launched With Snapdragon 855, 90Hz QHD Display and more

OnePlus has launched its latest smartphones at multiple events held concurrently in New York, London and Bengaluru. OnePlus 7 Pro is the flagship device that brings a whole new design philosophy and is a major leap over the OnePlus 6T both in terms of hardware and aesthetics.

The OnePlus 7 Pro comes with a 6.67-inch Fluid AMOLED QHD+ (3120x1440) 90Hz display, and is powered by a Snapdragon 855 SoC. It carries a 4,000mAh battery and is offered with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

Imaging options include a triple-cam setup at the rear, which incorporates the 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with an f/1.6 lens, an 8MP camera with an f/2.4 telephoto lens and a 16MP camera with an f/2.2 ultra-wide lens. The phone also comes with a 16MP pop-up selfie camera.

OnePlus 7 Pro Scores 111 on DxOMark; Edges Out iPhone XS Max, Galaxy S10 Plus

DxOMark has awarded an overall score of 111 to the newly-launched OnePlus 7 Pro for its rear-facing triple-camera setup, putting it ahead of devices like the Galaxy S10 Plus, the iPhone XS Max and the Pixel 3 XL, which received scores of 109, 105 and 101, respectively.

The only two phones ahead of the OnePlus 7 Pro on the DxOMark chart are the Huawei P30 Pro and the Galaxy S10 5G, which continue to remain at the top with a score of 112 each.

Breaking down the score between photos and videos, the OnePlus 7 Pro received 118 on the former count and 98 on the latter. The selfie cam on the phone also notched up 86 points, putting it close to some of the top-performing phones on that front as well.

'Affordable' OnePlus 7 Launched With 48MP Sony IMX586 Camera, Snapdragon 855 SoC

While the OnePlus 7 Pro got much of the attention at Tuesday's launch event, OnePlus also debuted a relatively more affordable option called the OnePlus 7 that comes with much the same hardware as its more illustrious stablemate, but with a few differences.

The OnePlus 7 features a 6.41-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) Optic AMOLED display, and is powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC. It is offered with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM alongside 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. It carries a 3,700mAh battery with 20W fast charging.

Imaging on the OnePlus 7 include the 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor as its primary camera alongside a 5MP secondary sensor as part of a dual-cam setup at the back. On the front, the device bears the 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor housed within a teardrop notch instead of the pop-up mechanism found on the OnePlus 7 Pro.

Pricing starts at Rs. 32,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant, going up to Rs. 37,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model.

Lenovo Unveils 'World's First Foldable PC' With 13.3" 2K OLED Display

Folding smartphones may have got off to a rocky start with the confusion surrounding the surprisingly fragile Samsung Galaxy Fold, but that isn't stopping other tech biggies from jumping onto the bandwagon.

The company also said that it has been working on the device for over three years, and plans to launch a commercial product next year as part of its premium ThinkPad X1 brand.

 Lenovo said that the prototype device comes with a 13.3-inch 4:3 2K OLED display, runs Windows and is powered by an Intel CPU, but refused to give out any further details.

Germany's First 'eHighway' Charges Hybrid Trucks While They Travel

Germany has opened its first stretch of what's being described as an 'electric highway'that connects hybrid trucks to overhead wires, allowing the vehicles to recharge their batteries while on the move.

According to a press release from Siemens, which built the eHighway, the 10-kilometer stretch lies near the city of Frankfurt on the A5 autobahn, and was opened last week for custom Scania hybrid trucks developed by Volkswagen.

While the new eHighway is said to be operational until 2022, the technology is expected to be expanded to more regions around the country if everything goes according to plan.

You Can Now Buy Xiaomi Smartphones From Vending Machines

After conquering both the online and offline markets to emerge as the top smartphone vendor in India, Xiaomi on Monday announced yet another retail strategy, introducing plans to sell its smartphones via the 'Mi Express Kiosks'.
As part of the plan, Xiaomi Global VP Manu Kumar Jain inaugurated the first kiosk at Manyata Tech Park in Bengaluru, making it the first technology brand in India to sell smartphones via vending machines.

Lenovo on Thursday launched its EGO digital smartwatch in India. The device comes with the design language of a 1980s digital wristwatch with a thick, rubbery bezel, but packs most of the essential features of a modern-day smartwatch, including Bluetooth 4.0, a 42mm monochrome display with night light mode, vibration actuator and more.

The EGO has a claimed battery life of 20 days, and is compatible with both iOS and Android, relaying notifications for phone calls, emails, texts and social media apps. In addition to that, it also offers a 24-hour real-time heart rate monitor, 5ATM water resistance (50 meters), activity tracking, swim tracking, sleep tracking and more. Intel Confirms Plans to Launch 7nm Chips in 2021

At Intel's annual Investor Day on Wednesday, CEO Bob Swan announced that the company would launch its first 7 nanometer chips in 2021. Elaborating on the timeline, Dr. Murthy Renduchintala, Intel’s chief engineering officer, said that the lead 7nm product is expected to be an Intel Xe architecture-based, general-purpose GPU (GP-GPU) for data center AI and high-performance computing.

The 7nm chips are expected to deliver 2 times scaling and is expected to provide approximately 20 percent increase in performance per watt with a 4 times reduction in design rule complexity.

The company also announced that after many a delay, its first volume 10nm processor, a mobile PC platform code-named “Ice Lake” will begin shipping in June. It is expected to deliver approximately 3 times faster wireless speeds, 2 times faster video transcode speeds, 2 times faster graphics
 Performance a 2.5 to 3 times faster artificial intelligence (AI) performance over previous generation products, said the company.
