Lilium Successfully Completes First Test of its New Electric Air Taxi

Electric flying taxis are expected top become a thing over the next decade, with many of the major aviation, transportation and tech brands, including Airbus, Boeing, Bell, Uber and Kitty Hawk, among others, believed to be working on such projects.

another such company is German startup, Lilium, which has now announced a successful first test of its full-scale, all-electric five-seater aircraft. In an interview with The Verge followingtheannouncement, Remo Gerber, Lilium’s chief compliance officer,

"The first flight went exactly how it was intended to be"

The Lilium Jet is an autonomous, eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) vehicle that's expected to have a range of 300 kilometers and a top speed of 300 km / hour when complete. The company hopes to launch a commercial flying taxi service by 2025.
