Redmi Note 7 Launched in Space; Captures Stunning Photos of the Earth

Xiaomi has announced that it launched the Redmi Note 7 (Chinese version with 48MP camera) in space and retrieved it in perfect working condition. CEO Lei Jun also posted a video chronicling the phone's space odyssey, showing three Redmi Note 7 units in a custom 3D-printed rig flying at an altitude of 35.37km above sea-level.
Here is the video

With the atmospheric temperature going down to minus 58-degrees centigrade, the custom rig shielded the phones somewhat from the extreme conditions, and kept them at a more reasonable 4-degrees centigrade while they were floating around in space for 2 hours on-board a hydrogen balloon.

While in space, at least one of the the devices, fitted with custom software to automatically click photographs at regular intervals, returned the following images. Tap on the gallery below and then swipe to see all the images.
