Intel Looks to Give Celeron, Pentium Processors Big Performance Boost

Intel's low-priced offerings are under serious threat from ARM processors, especially as Qualcomm brings the heat with the 8Cx computing platform for consumer devices.

Phoronix found new code in Intel’s open source Linux graphics driver that suggests the company is planning a performance boost for the lineup, and the new generation budget chips will be partially based on Intel’s upcoming 10th-gen Ice Lake processors.

It also looks like next-gen Celeron and Pentium Silver chips could come with improved Intel Gen11 integrated graphics, and will be manufactured using a 10nm process instead of 14nm. So we can expect really great performance in entry-level budget laptops early next year.
