In an interview to Wired this week, PlayStation system architect, Mark Cerny, revealed a lot of details about Sony's next-gen gaming console. According to Cerny, the PlayStation 5 will be powered by AMD hardware, including a third-generation Ryzen CPU and a Navi-based Radeon GPU with support for ray tracing and resolutions up to 8K.
Cerny also confirmed earlier reports that the device will be backward compatible with PS4 games, and support PlayStation VR. He also said that the device won't be released this year, but refused to reveal any possible launch date.
