Google Launches 'Currents' App to Replace Google+ For Enterprise Customers

Google has launched a new app called 'Currents' to replace the ill-fated Google+ social network that was officially discontinued last week. The new service is meant solely for businesses, and is available in beta to G Suit customers.

According to Google, Currents will come with a new UI and a whole lot more features than the older app ever offered, but business users will get to keep all of their Google+ content once they enrol for the new app.

Currents is currently in Early Access, and G Suite customers can request for enrollment to the beta program by dropping an e-mail to currentsbeta@google.com.

Do note that this is not the first time Google has launched an app named Currents. The company, back in 2011, had announced a magazine reader app by the same name, but it was integrated into the Google Play Newsstand app a few months later.
